Short online survey guide
The biggest problem with online surveys is that there are a lot of
people that do not play by the rules and lie that you can receive
thousands of dollars a month answering surveys.
Unfortunately that's not true. It's not something you can quit your
9-5 job for but it is still a very good way to use up your free time,
earn some money and share your opinion. I've done surveys for a couple
of years and earned a good deal of money for it.
There are a lot of survey panels around the internet but there are
only a few of them that are worth joining. Those are the bigger and
older market research companies that have gone from offline to online
and some new ones that have fresh ideas and really care about their
members.
If you have decided to participate in surveys online you need to get a
separate email address for it. You don't want to skip any survey
invitations or flood your main address with messages. When you go to a
survey website the first thing you should look around for is if it
charges a fee. If it does- just skip it. You are not going to get what
they promise. No $100 surveys, no free stuff, just a list of survey
panels. You can find a lot of free resources, like
http://www.mysurveyprofit.com/ for example that share the same
information without trying to rip you off.
After that you need to see if the website has a privacy policy, if it
has any hacker safe certification and if it is a member of the BBB. If
it does not have at least one of these I suggest you be careful when
signing up. Make sure that you confirm your membership after signing
up - in most cases by clicking a link in the confirmation email that
you received. If you do not do that you will not receive any surveys
from that company. Most people think that just registering does the
trick, but there's a bit more to it than that. After verifying make
sure you complete any available questionaires about yourself.
That helps the survey panels get your demographic profile that is
later used to determine what kind of surveys you will receive. The
more complete profile - the more surveys you will get.
Also register with as many legitimate panels as you can. Registering
with one or two will just not do the trick - the more panels you are a
member of, the more survey invitations you will receive.
Some surveys will pay cash, others - sweepstakes. I know what you're
thinking now, I'll just skip the sweepstakes, I just want hard cash.
Wrong. A $4 survey is nice, but a 1:500 chance to win $2000 is even
better.
Some survey panels have a referral program and you should invite any
friends that you think will be interested as that will earn you even
more money.
You're probably asking yourself how much can you make completing
surveys online. You can realistically make $300-350 monthly completing
surveys, that's 3600-4200 a year, which is a great way to supplement
your income.
